Hungarian Plant Certified under European DIN Standard
Another NORDENIA Plant Meets the Newest Hygiene Standard
Szada (Hungary)/Greven (Germany), Nov 26, 2009. NORDENIA INTERNATIONAL AG – an international manufacturer of flexible packaging, technical films, and product components – is establishing consistent hygiene standards for all its European plants. The NORDENIA HUNGARY site in Szada is now also certified under the European standard DIN EN 15593 (“Hygiene management in the production of packaging for foodstuffs”).The plant, which manufactures packaging for food and beverages, hygiene products, and pet products, has now successfully completed a three-day audit. Reinhard Große from the German Association for the Certification of Management Systems certified the Hungarian NORDENIA site for compliance with the requirements of a hygiene management system defined by the standard.
Besides the already implemented aspects of the HACCP concept (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point), the company in Szada has integrated all requirements which currently exist for a comprehensive hygiene management system. The new DIN EN 15593 standard does not only shape these requirements very precisely, it also covers BRC/IoP’s detailed requirements concerning corporate hygiene, product safety, and quality assurance for packaging manufacturers.
László Nagy Kaszap, Managing Director of NORDENIA HUNGARY Szada, is satisfied: “Our team implemented the new standard in less than six months. Each and every employee contributed to this great achievement. In future, we will take it as a permanent challenge to further improve the level of our hygiene standard.”
In total, with the sites in Gronau, Halle, Steinfeld (all in Germany), Barcelona (Spain), and Szada, five subsidiaries within the NORDENIA Group are now certified under this hygiene standard – with the plants in Osterburken (Germany), Poznan (Poland), and Pereslavl (Russia), further sites are to follow.
