Gronau/Greven, Jun 30, 2008. Due to Werner Buerkle’s age-related retirement from the company, Wolfram Bruening is now the sole Managing Director at NORDENIA DEUTSCHLAND Gronau GmbH, effective July 1, 2008. Bruening, who has a Master of Engineering, has held various leading positions with three different automotive suppliers all over the world throughout the past 15 years. The last company he worked for before joining NORDENIA was Johnson Controls, where, as Managing Director, he was responsible for the Grefrath (Germany) site.
Werner Buerkle has been bidden farewell in a ceremonial act after 17 years of successful management of NORDENIA DEUTSCHLAND Gronau GmbH. Andreas Picolin, member of the Executive Board and Vice Chairman of the Executive Board of NORDENIA INTERNATIONAL AG, recognized the achievement of Werner Buerkle: During the era Buerkle, the profitability of the company has been sustainably increased by innovative product applications, and the number of employees rose by 50 % to 811 employees.
Buerkle received the Order of Merit on a ribbon in 2005 from the Federal President, Horst Koehler. It is the highest honor the Federal Republic of Germany bestows for civilian service. Werner Buerkle is one of the founding members of the "Church/Commerce" ecumenical workgroup and a member of Board of Directors of the "Aktive Unternehmen im Westmuensterland" (Active Companies in West Muensterland) association. In addition, he is one of the initiators of the "Uwe-Unternehmens-Foerderungsgesellschaft" (Uwe Corporate Sponsorship Organization), which has been furthering the founding and development of future-looking companies since 1998.
NORDENIA DEUTSCHLAND Gronau is regarded as one of the most important manufacturers in Europe in the areas of high-quality printed films for packaging and automatic packaging systems, technical films, hygiene components as well as lamination and labeling films.
