Greven/Putten/Apeldoorn, Jul 6, 2007. NORDENIA HOLLAND Putten, a manufacturer of packaging products and a film converter, will continue its operations under the names Burgers FlexiPrint and Cito Flexibles. A group of Dutch investors around Jos van der Vorst and Fortis Private Equity perceived a lot of market potential in NORDENIA HOLLAND’s product portfolio. They are therefore taking over production activities from NORDENIA INTERNATIONAL AG. The new investors are looking to the future with confidence and have developed an ambitious strategic plan.
The intended NORDENIA HOLLAND shutdown is no longer under consideration. The manufacture of products, such as flexible packaging, and films for the consumer goods industry will continue. These activities and the production facilities will be merged in early 2008 with those of Burgers Apeldoorn, another business owned by the investors around Jos van der Vorst. Activities will be consolidated in Putten. The company ultimately provides work for 120 FTEs. The names NORDENIA HOLLAND and Burgers Apeldoorn will be replaced with the new names Burgers FlexiPrint and Cito Flexibles.
Trust
The new owners have confidence in the future of Burgers FlexiPrint and Cito Flexibles. Burgers FlexiPrint will fully focus on core activities, the printing and finishing of consumer packaging for applications such as frozen food, bakery and fresh products, food and pet food. The focus for Cito Flexibles, with its own Research & Development department, will be on the production of films for consumer packaging and for various industrial applications.
Continuity
Employees are delighted that the period of uncertainty is over. Current business partners have been informed about the company’s continued operations. The focus of Burgers FlexiPrint will remain on producing high-quality consumer packaging and that of Cito Flexibles on the production of industrial and consumer films. The new company already possesses a large market share in these segments, including leading national and international clients in the food sector and in industry.
“Our goal is to further enhance Burgers FlexiPrint’s and Cito Flexibles’ position in the marketplace and we consider the packaging sector as a strategic business,” says Jos van der Vorst on behalf of the investors.
Through the sale of NORDENIA HOLLAND, the NORDENIA-Group is creating more room for acquisitions. “We intend to make additional investments in markets with growth potential,” says Ralph Landwehr, Chairman of the Executive Board at NORDENIA INTERNATIONAL AG.
