Automotive: Ecological Seat Covers Trend

Ecologically compatible, resource-saving, no waste: The automotive specialist NORDENIA DEUTSCHLAND Lohne presented bio-film for the first time at the Automechanika trade fair.

NOR^®Cover – Eco (100% sustainable) seat covers are made from cornstarch, they are fully compostable and may be printed on with water-soluble inks. With these seat covers, the international manufacturer of protective seat covers for the automotive industry, especially for seat manufacturers and repair shops, offers a sustainable alternative. Quality and printability of this sustainable film are already at the same level as conventional materials.

Another environmentally compatible solution is NOR^®Cover – Eco (100% degradable), which is also used in the automotive sector. A first-of-its-kind additive makes polyethylene films 100% degradable. This additive causes the film’s molecular chains to dissolve after a certain amount of time, leading to the complete disintegration of the film. For short-term applications, as with seat covers, this film represents the ideal bridge solution on the path towards a “green future”. The film is also recyclable and its production hardly costs more than standard films.
