For hygiene-sensitive products like food, hygiene products, or even pet food products, the obligation arises to provide only packaging that is suited for safe use in regard to the "Hygiene" aspect. As a manufacturer of this packaging, NORDENIA has implemented hygiene management systems to meet their responsibilities in regard to delivery.
Hygiene Standards
All over Europe, EN 15593 (Management of hygiene in the production of packaging for foodstuffs) has been introduced as the hygiene standard. This standard describes both the hygiene management and hygiene practices of packaging manufacturers that see themselves as companies in the food processing chain as described in EN ISO 22000. The structure of the hygiene standard is closely based on quality management standard ISO 9001, which enables simple implementation in the IMS. Among other things, the standard regulates the performance of risk analyses and risk evaluations, the guarantee of traceability, the approval and monitoring of suppliers, and the internal cleaning activities.The sites outside of Europe are certified according to HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) or other country-specific hygiene standards.
