 Surface
When innovative film properties are developed, the focus is always on the benefits to the customers. In this way, films with extremely different surface properties are developed - from repellent to adhesive - for example, for innovative reclosable systems for flexible packaging. Heat-sensitive films, which change color in defined temperature ranges, are among the research areas. Embossing lacquers and labels with metal or pearl effects enable innovative product designs. This also applies to laser-markable and holographic films, with which inkless safety features can be realized as well. |
 Mechanics
The excellent press operations of NORDENIA films enable the highest cycle numbers on the latest further processing and packaging machines. NORDENIA TECHNOLOGIES continues to develop the mechanical properties, from rigid to highly elastic films. Stretchability or directional elasticity, sealing properties, or penetration resistance are tested, as well as the prevention of static charging, the moldability of films, or the targeted setting of tear resistances or tear propagation strengths. |

 Barriers
Special barriers, for example against gases, incidence of light, or moisture, protect film-packed products from drying out or becoming wet, from oxygen, light, extraneous smells, and loss of aroma. In contrast, high permeability levels are decisive, for example for carbon dioxide, in other application areas. Oxygen-absorbing films help to increase the shelf life and therefore the quality of packaged fresh food. Barrier properties for individual applications are developed, for example for stretchable and elastic films as well as for packaging with moisture barriers. |
